birthday this year was a very small affair. just several small dinners with the people i love..
though quiet.. it was very very sweet.
dad took us out, both sundays, 30th and 6th april, to celebrate mine and my sister's birthday.
it was a treat. being able to have a nice dinner with everyone happy, two sundays in a row. it made my year.
=)
so... on the 30th, dad took us out to dinner at this chinese restaurant, Villa Seafood Galleria, atop the Labrador Park! it was quite out of the way.. but,
surprise surpise! has an amazing seaview!
there's even a nice chill out area on top of the restaurant... with nice deck chairs.. so we hung around to catch the sunset. for a moment, it didn't feel like i was still in singapore. the breeze and setting seemed so unlike singapore. all the lush greenery.. not a single building in sight..
after the sun set, we went down to get some foood....
the restaurant was quite packed that day as there was a small wedding dinner on (my dad says on weekdays it's practically empty, so it makes a very nice dinner spot) and i saw this by the pool side!! super pretty right? i think they just had the solemnization ceremony there. super romantic! by the pool side, infront of the sea.. with a walkway strewn with rose petals... **swoons**
ahem. let me get back to the restaurant. haha.
very nice setting, can-to chinese style.. with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, proudly showcasing the sea view that sets them apart from everyone else..
because of the wedding dinner, we had dinner in one of the private dining rooms! which was really pretty. dinner was served by the portion per individual. it was nice to be spoilt like that. you didn even have to reach out to get your own food!
a nice family potrait. =) they had this really cute dish which they used to serve the shrimp. it looked like a giant sized porcelain spoon.
so daddy tried eating with it. haha. my dad loves the camera more than anyone of us.. the food there was alright, but the setting makes up for everything!
my new love, this pumpkin creation served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! i will so go back for this... after dinner we went back up to chill out before we leave..
and everywhere's alight with nice lighting and candles!
the stairway up..
there were tables planted around, candles lining the walkways.. a wooden swing. the whole atmosphere was just so comfortable and welcoming..
and the view at night, is almost as good as the day, with all the lighting. look at the private dining area in the middle of the pool! super luxe..
and just when i thought things couldn get any better, we went for the flyer on the 6th!
managed to score a super slot - we watched the sun set, looked at all the lights come on slowly.. and saw how pretty singapore can be at night!
just brillant.
as we were approaching the top of the wheel, the movement of the capsule was quite, errm, disturbing.
especially when we're this high. haha.
but then the 360degrees view pretty much distracted everyone.
the clouds turned a blushing pink.. as we watched the sun disappear behind the city skyline.
then all the lights came on, bit by bit...
and the esplanade only lighted up as we're about to alight!
oh well, by then i had more than enough pictures!
oh, and here's the reason why i don't have pictures with my mum and dad alone. my sister is a lousy photographer.
hopefully she'll grow up soon -.-" and know how to better work the camera so there'll be no more blurry shots! so after the flyer we went for dinner at another chinese restaurant. Pu Tien, located at kitchener.
simple comfort food.
a nice way to end the day.
oh and proof that my dad's a major goofball:
this pic was taken first...
and when it was our turn. lol. super cute, no? if only every sunday would be like the past two.
then maybe, just maybe, home would feel pretty much like a home again.
