so the 15th day of cny's over. and here are all my pictures!! muahahaha~ i've put on about 2kg over the new year, and seriously, it's not hard to see where did the weight come from. pui. it's definitely the tarts. reunion dinner as i said was a quiet affair this year, with the passing of my paternal grandfather. so we had a small dinner at home, just my mum, dad, sis and me. it was a little awkward but i was glad things turned out quite already. so here's a picture of my super-hero mummy. with her bandaged arm, smiling away with the nian gao...  while my dad sis and i slave away in the kitchen.. over dinner!   Bought this pen cai from a chinese restaurant for the reunion dinner. apparently it's like the in thing to get for cny this year. went along with daddy to go collect it from the restaurant on chu xi and we saw the smashed up orange lamborghini along that stevens road bend, with the ambulance and all, on our way to isetan scotts.it's kinda cool. they give you the whole claypot with everything inside and you just go home, heat it up and it's ready to eat!   i thought it would be quite awful to it as there's like mussels, fatty pork, duck's tongue and a lot of other weird stuff which i cant seem to identify, but it was suprisingly good. so here's the "feast" the three of us prepared! There's scallops and abalone and that black moss thing in the pen cai. very nice stuff!anyhow i bet things would go well for me this year cause i've did the lou-hei soooo many times!! =D   ya and you wonder why you don't see me in then pictures? cause i'm the official photographer!anyhow, this year caught up quite abit with my cousins. it's kinda sad to see the family kinda drifting apart after not having the glue (the grandparents) to keep everything together but i'm glad we all made an effort! the cousins. being goofy and dumb.  daddy being his funny-self. insisted on a picture. hehe. quite cute la my dad. Had lunch at my first aunty's place this year. Her house is pretty cool. She has this entire row tanks filled with guppies along the corridor, according to her, guppies breed like rabbits, so pretty soon she had a farm. some of my cousins and aunts spent the day with nets catching the guppies they like home. my first aunty should charge! it's like those kampung fishing thing in qian hu fish farm? the only thing is that the guppies are i bet are a lot better than the ones you would get there. mentally construct the three pics together to get a rough idea on how long the corridor is!    and of course a picture with my nephew and niece! it's a tradition, every year also must take!they're super cute la, and growing super fast too. can't help but feel old standing next to them.   so, we did the visiting at the usual stops, but not so much this year as we're not supposed to officially go around but still i went over to cm's as per normal on the night of the second day.his whole family (mummy's side) would be there and we would play blackjack and talk. his uncles are all v cute. and this cousin of his! super cute girl, v shy initially but when she opens up to you she talks non-stop. she's pretty much the same since the last cny, just taller. i think cny's kinda cool eh, you get to observe how the little ones grow. no wonder all aunties always get such a kick doing that "eh, loooook at how muccchhhh you'veeee grownnn!!" thing.  oh oh! and gambling night, or to better put it, cny games night, at lenny's place. how could i forget! i went after work and all of the guys i swear ganged up to cheat all of my money. (i was the banker) utter rubbish. where got chances of getting the same cards as the person beside you, or across half the table, so many times d! I mean, what are the odds!!  somemore blackjack together! what rubbish! pui~ whole table twenty / twenty points? think the banker would have to deal with a heafty payout? haha. sorry. banker twenty one points!everyone: WAH LAO!!! so big also cannot eat!  Matty tried desperately to eat my money also. scoring blackjack after blackjack and then a "ban-ban". urrgh.the culprit. anyhow, the idiot wrote down the lines for the lou-hei cause he couldnt remember them.  and for his effort, got himself a blackjack and won a grand total of....... 20cents!!! now if only i could get that vid of us doing the lou-hei over at lenny's... **nudges matty** it'd be perfect! |
