ngee ann poly interview. the thing that would either make or break me. went for my interview this morning in my carefully planned power suit. yes. i ever wore my killer heels as i would love to call it. i walked into the campus extra full of confidence but as i entered the reporting room. i saw this girl wearing the same shirt as me. ya. i know. a black shirt with white vertical stripes wasn't exactly dior couture but well. it did lower my confidence a lil cuz if the interviewers remember a girl in a black long sleeve shirt with white strips, they wouldn't be able to confirm if it's me. oh well. enough about the whining of my attire. the interviews were horrible!!! my first stop was a one-to-one interview with this caucasian, whom i think is one of their lectures. it went like this interviewer : what is your passion? take your time to think about it. is doesn't have to be media related. me : singing is my passion **rattles on** interviewer define passion me : *not so confidently* about liking something a lot as a whole.. blah..blah.. interviewer : **YAWNS!!!!** sorry about that. i didn mean to. it's not that i find you boring. it's just that i'm very tired. me : *all smiles* it's ok. should i go on? interviewer : next qns, wad is one social issue that you're concerned about? me : *i was so super-bent on answering the nyp scandal! but i thought it wouldn't go down well. what if he started to ask if i or do i have any friends who video themselves in action. so i said... "the nkf scandal." urrghh. i knew at that point if i talked about the juicy sex tape instead. he might perk up and actually even give me extra points for my entertaining conversation. Oh well.. next round was a 2 interviewer and 3 students kinda thing. so two other people and poor me included had to pick out a question from a few cards which were laid covered on the table. the only guy in our group, which i must say is quite a blur cutie, picked out a question which is "create a radio programme either for children or senior citizens" so. after much brainstorming withing the allocted ten mins, we planned out a rough programme for senior citizens. with like talk shows. health tips and stuff. oh. before i forget to mention. the two interviewers. one is a guy, the other a lady. Mistake no1. so. the guy asks : so wad language is your programme in? me : english guy : but looking at the senior citizens at the void deck, they don't look very english to me. me my girl teammate : we'll have slots.. blah blah lady interviewer : what about dialects? my grandma doesn't speak chinese. she only speaks teochew. MAN.... i almost died.. let me carry on. Mistake no2. lady : so is your programme just going to be talkshows? guy : what happened to the music. we assumed that there was music all along... we thought we were to plan stuff besides that. Mistake no3. because the other two members of the team were quite quiet, so i answered most of the questions that they shot out and i think i didn't answer them really well. so ya. i screwed my interview. =( i so badly wanna go in... p.s. i'm finally typing this entry on my own computer!! yay!! and guess what there's broadband too. hah!! arrghh. i feel rotten. |
